"You have anxiety" I grew up watching Code Lyoko and seeing Aelita doing flips and taking 84 years to deactivate the tower while everyone was about to fucking die. Of course I have anxiety

Sometimes I wonder why code lyoko never had the fandom that ML has but then I remember the recycled animations, the sketchy scripting, the clumsy romances, the colossal foreheads, the high stakes video game-esque VR world with pre-selected character classes, time travel, the literal princess in a tower who’s in love with the man behind the machine and evil super computer that literally hacks things in the game and IRL with murderous intent (ie giant murder teddy bear, hacking a school bus to drive a bus full of kids into an electric plant) and then I REALLY wonder why Code Lyoko never had the fandom ML has
#code lyoko#like this show was fucking bunkers#and in a so bad but so good type of way#and it’s French#idk I miss my large foreheaded children

Big City Greens Headcanons!
Pretty much the whole green family are autistic.
Gramma has a private criminal record, especially in other countries.
Tilly owns a butterfly book that Bill got for and often talks about butterfly fun facts.
Bill sometimes shows a photo of his family to people and talks about how he loves them.
Remy introduced anime to Cricket and Tilly, Cricket's favorite is Pokémon, Tilly's favorite is Little Witch Academia while Remy and Vasquez loves DragonBall and Code Lyoko.
Bill is Bisexual, he's pretty shy about opening up his bisexuality, but his family supports him, especially Cricket and Gramma.
Gloria still keeps the homemade Eiffel tower that Cricket made.
Bill and Remy love listening to ASMR.
Nancy is also Bi, Gloria is Pan while Gramma is a ally.
Chip's favorite movie is American Psycho.
Andromeda loves the X-files.
After the events of Quiet Please, The greens still practice ASL.

Idea/ Concept-Black Butler x Code Lyoko: The Cat in the Manor
Takes Places:
Season 4 of Code Lyoko Season 1 of Black Butler
This is a very old idea I want to share, but I don't have the motivation to write the whole thing, so here you go.
*** A trip to a Replika went wrong. XANA bugged the tower that the Skidblatner attached itself, when it was time to leave after they destroyed the Supercomputer holding the Replika together, Ulrich was fine when he was sent back, but Odd's bugged out. He wasn't in his pod like he was supposed to be. They couldn't stay to try and find him as if they waited much longer, the rest would end up in danger as well.
They were worried and terrified for their friend, and what could have happened to him.
Odd was awakened in a pile of leaves with a group of people looking at him, with the youngest (he looked about his age) demanding answers as to why he was on his property. Odd could understand, but his English wasn't the best, so he tried to answer that he didn't remember.
The Butler pulled the boy aside, and spoke, leaving him to feel awkward with the others looking at him. It was only than that he realized that he was in his Lyoko form. The purple jumpsuit and cat-like paws, and he could feel his tail behind him. Oh no, something went wrong on the last mission he was just on.
The two came back, "Where are you from?"
"France."
The boy didn't like it, but he told him to follow him into the large manor. He felt eyes all on him, even after he told the others, besides the butler, to go back to work. He was led to an office and told to sit.
The butler spoke, "You are not from our time, are you?"
"Time? You mean 2004?"
"1862."
The kid looked tired but said that he'd be willing to assist him to get home, however, he had to go by his rules. Of course, and then came the question as to why he looked like a cat. "Long story."
___
The angel felt the disturbance and found the cat child out of place. She wanted him gone, especially finding out that he was in the same house as the disgusting demon of all people. Another angel came and claimed he was there to assist.
The angel saw no issue with it. Whatever it took to succeed with their goal.
---
Ideas
• Grim meets Pluto, it does not go well for the Cat Boy. He's chased up a tree.
• Grim Reapers attempt to assist, since Odd's presence messes with the order of things.
• Odd needs clothes to blend in. So, shopping trip is a must.
• Odd meets Elizabeth and is hugged to death by the girl, with her squealing that he's so cute. Not to forget the MANY outfits she forces him to wear.
• Odd's ears and tail are attached to his body, so he must hide them when going out.
• Odd is given a guest bedroom, meals are often delivered to him.
• Prince Sama and Angi love Odd and treat him to some Indian meals. Which he inhales and has no problems with the seasoning.
• Possible Odd x Ciel. OR Odd x William
• Sebastian gets some pets in when Odd is asleep because the closest thing to a cat now.
• Finny teaches Odd about gardening, but does reveal his inhuman strength, Odd thinks it's awesome.
• Bard/Baldroy trying to cook, but Odd tries to help, he can cook a few things.
• Odd helps Mei with cleaning so it's not a complete disaster.
• Odd often stays in his room when there are human guests.
• Ciel never tells Odd his past. He's told by the Angels. Information about Sebastian is included.
• XANA found a way into the Black Butler Universe and was able to make a computer in a place the Warriors couldn't reach. He brought the Catboy over to try and break up the group more want to make him one of his soldiers.
• Odd witnesses the house servants' defenses against home intruders. He helps.
• William attempts to kidnap Odd.
• William is able to break free of XANA's hold.
• Odd and William get to go home in the end.
• XANA still lives but is weakened.
• Angel is killed by the end.

Summary: Aelita Stones gulped as she looked up into the grand entrance hall of the towering building she had just entered. It was her new home for the next year. The glass chandelier reflected the room's light brilliantly illuminating the beautiful antiques and expensive paintings hanging from the walls. The sheer grandness of the room made her feel inexplicably tiny and out of place. She had entered a different world. A world not for her. Or at least… that’s what it felt like. The Kadic Royal Academy was the most prestigious school in Europe, possibly the world but, as the name suggested, it was a school for young royals. Something Aelita was far from. Taking a deep breath, she geared her confidence. So what if she wasn’t of noble birth? She had won her opportunity fair and square. She deserved to be here. With a smile, she stepped forward, surer of herself this time. Unfortunately, despite her regained confidence Aelita ended up stepping on someone the very next second. “I’m sorry!” She blurted, her confidence fast fading. She stood there waiting for a severe talking to from whichever stuck up royal she had the misfortune of meeting first. The stranger only laughed. “It’s alright,” he said kindly. "I'm Jeremy."

okay to continue with xanaified!jeremie au here’s some ideas i was thinking about:
jeremie somehow being a double agent. since he is very smart and hacker man essentially, maybe there would be some instances where he would try to send aelita code, and write it off as an “accident”
not a lot of episodes where we physically see jeremie and he’s not “evil” per say, but i think his fighting style is more long range, not very close combat kinda guy lol
episodes like those i dont think jeremie shows up in lyoko, or if he does, its an extra intense fight because xana is pissed
the group overall being even more protective of each other, because i think how it happened was through the headset/technology, so extra anxious lyoko gang
there’s some tension/anger because their friend is gone, but they also try to lean on each other emotionally and become closer as a group
also i support some unexpected friendships, so will gets somewhat closer to aelita, and eventually he views her like a little sister
yumi starts talking more with odd, since he can always lighten the mood, and sometimes she just needs that. (and also someone to just listen without judging)
aelita trying to teach how to use the supercomputer for some basic functions, and there’s a lot more of a switch up because no one else can deactivate the tower
so now there’s more of a rotational system there is what i’m thinking

Behold, the most important thing that came out of my drawing stream earlier today: concept art for the interior of not!lyoko's towers in my owlhouse x codelyoko fic, Backlight and Bitrot.
Image ID: A cylindrical space sits within a dark void, almost enclosed. A haze-like golden glow rises from below, and scattered, translucent, golden panels line the "walls" of the space. A large platform in the shape of a target-like glyph sits in the middle, and an endless flow of black water springs from underneath it. Where the jutting end of the platform meets the "wall", there is a rippling portal, the entrance and exit to the tower. A bright golden terminal floats across from the portal, near the center of the platform.
While its shape and overall vibe is most similar to the tower interiors from Code Lyoko, its color palette resembles The Owl House's Inbetween, and the symbol on the floor is the glyph found in King's tower. I'm still about 50/50 on having the outermost three-quarters-circle be a sort of ramp up to the middle part, and I might change how the terminal is oriented compared to the portal, but other than that, I'm pretty dang happy with what I've got so far.
As for the exteriors of the towers... I might have to do a little more amalgamating, between Lyoko's towers (iconic), King's tower (thematically appropriate), and the tower in the back of the Owl House (rustic, safe). That design is very much not set in stone yet. Hell, I might even vary them from sector to sector...

I meant I think Marinette should really try to make herself some kind-of alert thing to let her know when there's an Akuma. Like in Code Lyoko, they had that tower scanner/locater. If she knew there was an active Akuma, then she could start looking for them, or fixed those situations or at least made them less threatening by miraculous ladybug-ing the effects away.
I mean, if the plot ever allows for her to make that, sure.

Hey... Hey Miracle (and Co.)
... Mind explaining Code Lyoko to us? /gen
Oh buddy, you just opened up a Pandora's Box, i hope you like the explanation
At the simplest, without getting into the deep lore given in the later season, Code Lyoko is a cartoon/TV show about a group of High school teenagers who hides a secret, that they have a Supercomputer with a human trapped inside that they are trying to free
They are also at war with the main villain of this show, XANA, who is an AI with god powers (i am not exaggerating)
The Supercomputer also hides a Virtual world the human trapped in the Supercomputer is in, called Lyoko, which is the only way the teenagers are able to stop XANA
XANA came from Lyoko, and the only way it can sends an attack to the real world is by utilizing a tower present on Lyoko, when a tower is active, means XANA is actively doing something to the real world
If you want to learn more, here is a playlist of the show if you want to bingewatch, just to warn you, some bullshit XANA throws at the group can get REALLY scary, but they are fun

Nostalgic Lookback: Code Lyoko
I came upon this show when its first season began being broadcast on Cartoon Network during my final year of middle school. At first I'd thought I missed something with it, but it turns out no, it didn't give any upfront explanations when it started, it just throws you right in. These four kids living at a French boarding school have their own secret base set up in an abandoned factory outside of campus where there's this world called Lyoko that exists within a computer system and a virtual girl named Aelita who they wanted to de-digitize out from Lyoko, but also this terrifying as shit malicious AI program called XANA that has overtaken Lyoko and extends itself like a virus to attack the system and cause problems that risk bringing about destruction in the real world, so the kids have to digitize themselves into Lyoko as 3D warriors who fight against XANA's 3D monsters until Aelita can reach a control tower and insert "Code Lyoko" to stop whatever madness XANA had unleashed that day. Does this sound totally weird and crazy to you? Well, that's just the first season!
Needless to say, I invested a good deal of time and enjoyment on this French cartoon. It wasn't perfect and couldn't fully deliver on all its ideas by the last season, but it was a quality show overall and for sure a lot better than that live action sequel/retool they did later on.

Bad TTRPG Idea
Code Lyoko: The Game
The players are ordinary boarding school students who also have access to a supercomputer that allows them to enter the Virtual World and fight off an evil Virus that can alter reality.
You get the social roleplay of a slice of life highschool setting, combined with the heroics and stakes and unique environments of whatever genre you want the virtual world to be.
The Hacker: Runs the supercomputer. Loads the others into the virtual world and extracts them when necessary. Has full view of the virtual world and all of the monsters waiting for them. Can alter the terrain. Can prevent the Virus from summoning more troops. Generally provides support for the Warriors.
The Warriors: The ones actually going into the virtual world. They're the ones that get the unique weapons and skills. Fighting virtual monsters is the fun part, sure, but the goal is to reach the Tower with the Program.
The Program: The member of the team that is originally from the Virtual World, and is the only one that can deactivate Towers: the virtual constructs that the Virus uses to impact the real world.
Work as a team to deactivate the towers and save the day.
This probably already exists, but, whatevs. Post now
